Are your perfumes vegan and cruelty-free?
Ingredients & Allergens
You’ll find ingredients listed for each fragrance that are potential allergens on the product page description. Our perfume oils and alcohol-based fragrances contain no phthalates, no parabens, or dyes.
Our formulations adhere to the latest safety and environmental guidelines published annually by the International Fragrance Research Association (IFRA).
What is the shelf life of my perfume?
Most fragrances stay at their best for two to three years after opening, and many continue to wear well well beyond that. A few things help:
- Store the bottle out of direct sunlight. A drawer, a closed cabinet, or a shelf away from the window all work.
- Avoid heat and big temperature swings. A bathroom counter near a hot shower is the most common offender.
- Keep the cap on when not in use.
You may notice the opening of a fragrance shift slightly as it ages, citrus notes in particular can sharpen briefly in the first few seconds before the rest of the scent comes forward. This is normal and doesn't mean the bottle has turned.
What is the concentration of my perfume?
Our eau de parfum is compounded at 18%. Our perfume oils are blended at 20%.
The two wear differently. Eau de parfum projects more, you'll notice it across a room, and others will too. Perfume oils stay closer to the skin and sit lower; the scent is for you and whoever's near you, not for the rest of the room. Oils also tend to last longer on the skin and don't carry the brief alcohol bite that a fresh spray sometimes has.
Both are at niche-level concentrations, most designer fragrances fall between 8% and 15%.

What’s the turnaround time on an order?
Orders are typically processed and shipped within 1–2 business days. Should we anticipate a longer delay, you’ll be notified immediately.
Can I send a fragrance back that I don’t like?
Fragrance is personal and reactions to a scent often shift across the first few wearings, what reads unfamiliar on day one can settle into something you like by day three. For that reason, and because perfume is a personal-use product, we don't accept returns on opened bottles.

Cancellations?
We accept cancellations within two hours of purchase via email: orders@blackswansociety.com
What if my order is damaged?
We replace items if they are defective or damaged within 3 days of delivery. If you need to exchange an item that is defective or damaged:
We will require:
Full details of your customer order number, which is provided in the invoice that arrives with your confirmation email, together with details of the items you wish to return. A picture of the damaged item or send the damaged item back to us before any exchange.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Lost or Stolen Packages:
Black Swan Society is not responsible for any lost or stolen packages. However, if a package is lost in transit by the carrier, we will make every effort to assist you in locating it. Please reach out to us, and we will work together with the carrier to resolve the issue.
